  6. Start to add the gnocchi to the pan, bear in mind that you will need to make multiple batches, they need to be evenly spread in the pan so that they don’t stick on top of each other. They cook really quick within a few minutes, when they float they are ready, take a spoon or spatula with holes in it and scoop them out
  7. Here we made them with a simple tomato sauce but you can make them in many ways, with butter and sage is my favourite or ragout or cream and ham, ricotta and spinach… lots of options!!

They can also be made from semolina flour, as they are in Rome. Potato Gnocchi Method: Start by poking the potatoes all over using a fork.
